Volcano Hot Springs!
Sounds like another adventure in Bali!
A shorter drive this time, but we still had a couple of attractions along the way. The first was the Elephant Temple.
In order to see the temple, you were required to wear a sarong.
There has been alot of volcanic activity in Bali’s past. Here are the remnants of a temple that was destroyed by an eruption.
The Elephant Temple is actually a cave that was carved into rock where monks went to meditate.
We then traveled on to an organic farm higher up the mountain.
They specialized in many different types of fruit, teas, and coffee.
We got to sample many of their coffees, teas, and our driver/guide tried their tobacco.
One of their specialties was made famous by the movie, the Bucket List. It is Luwak Coffee. Luwaks are small mammals that are trained to eat coffee beans and then they roast the beans they poop out.
Yum. I can’t wait to drink some coffee that has passed through another mammal.
We then drove up to an overlook of the volcanoes where the hot springs are.
And then on to the hot springs.
