Angkor Thom, Cambodia
A little over two weeks ago, we took a vacation to Cambodia. It has taken me a while to post pictures from the trip because there were so many things to shoot that I have been overwhelmed with the task of working through all of my pictures.
We flew into a great little airport in Siem Reap and made our way to our hotel.
Our plan was to start visiting temples in the afternoon with our friends, Ron and Lisa. Before that, we struck out in the local mode of transport to visit the market and get some supplies.
In the afternoon, we visited Angkor Thom. It is near Angkor Wat. While Angkor Wat is the most well known of the temples in Cambodia, Angkor Thom turned out to be one of our favorites. Here is the main gate to the temple area and Jeanie and Maddie in front of the central temple at the center of the overall complex.
Even though the temple has long sense been abandoned there is a lot of local life in and around the temple. Some of it is real life.
And some of it is for the tourists.
The reason why we liked Angkor Thom so much is that it felt like your were really exploring it. Maddie had a great time with it.
Even with a guide, it still took us several hours to make our way through the temple.
With the sun setting and the moon rising, we headed back to our hotel to get ready for day two.
Another amazing and breath-taking experience! Great pictures Scott – you had very beautiful models too 🙂
WOW!!! What a wonderful adventure!
Fantastic! More life changing experiences for you all and you’ve done a wonderful job of capturing it on “film”. It almost looks surreal, so ethereal, yet eerily beautiful…thank you so much for sharing. I hope this finds everyone well. Cheers!
You have it all: the creative eye, the technique, the technical knowledge, the great location. Incredible.
That is all kinds of awesomeness! More! More!
Did you notice how the clouds in the background mimiced the face in the last picture?
