Christmas Eve in Kyoto
We spent Christmas Eve wandering some of the historic areas of Kyoto, Japan.
Our first stop was the large Kiyomizu Temple.
As with most of the active temples we visited, there is a fountain in the entrance to wash your hands.
Kiyomizu is a huge temple complex with many areas to explore within the temple buildings and on the grounds.
We then walked along one of the paths thru old Kyoto with many shops and restaurants.
Then to the Kadai-Ji Temple with its rock gardens and large bamboo grove.
More walking to one last temple in the Gion area.
Little shrines and offerings were everywhere.
It was overcast skies most of the day. But as evening approached, rain was threatening. So we headed back to our hotel for a small Christmas celebration. Christmas presents this year consisted of what could fit in our stockings so that we could pack it for the trip. Here is Maddie modeling her sunglasses and Lulu Lemon accessories she opened.
We had a great Christmas! Hope you did as well.
